Several concrete bunkers you’ll have chance to examine at the museum once belonged to one part of long fortified line (called “The Stalin Line” on the eve of the WWII). Now they make up the historical basis of the museum. Military engineers restored two machine-gun bunkers, artillery semi-caponier, and the command-and-observation post. The visitors are welcome to go inside the bunkers that have the per-war interiors preserved to a maximum degree of authenticity. Holding cold steel weapons in your hand you can feel yourself as a real Motherland defender. The engineering equipment of the area was recreated according to the pre-war drawings. On display, there are all kinds of trenches, antitank ditches of different kinds, positions for infantry divisions, trench shelters for personnel, trenches for guns, metal blocks and barbed wire fences.
The park of military equipment of different years is a highlight of the museum. It is the most complete exposition in the Republic of Belarus of all artillery and military equipment, which was employed in different years, beginning from the WWII times. On special dates, you can watch the real battle reenactments at the museum; the most popular are the fights, which took place here, at the line of the Minsk fortified region in June of 1941.
All the exhibits are real and you can touch them! Many of them still have dents from the shells, bullets and shrapnel, lubrication of those years. The local guides work in the military uniform of soldiers and commanders of the Red Army.
The local cafe offers to taste «the real soldier's porridge." Children can practice their shooting skills in a pneumatic rifle range, while the adults can experience the real weapons of the Great Patriotic War, blank rounds, of course!
